We are pleased to share Argyll’s 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Impact Report. The report gives transparent insight into our progress, challenges and ambitions as we build a more sustainable, inclusive, and responsible future.
At Argyll, our long-term success depends on more than buildings and locations. It relies on doing things the right way: caring for our environment, empowering our people, and operating with integrity at every level. This report reflects what we achieved in 2024, and where we are heading in 2025 and beyond.
Our ESG journey continues
We recognise the urgency of tackling climate, social, and governance challenges. We remain committed not only to meeting expectations, but to making tangible, meaningful change for our team, customers, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate.
Key highlights of the 2024 ESG Impact Report
Environmental stewardship
- We achieved a 19% reduction in carbon emissions (Scopes 1, 2 & 3) compared to 2023, helping sharpen our carbon hotspots and inform where to focus next.
- Our carbon footprint for 2024 was calculated at 8,031 tCO₂e, enabling better metrics and more targeted actions.
- Across all high-traffic meeting rooms, we installed Belu sustainable water systems, avoiding approximately 48,000 single-use glass bottles a year.
- Circular economy in action: over £9,200 worth of furniture and more than 70 pieces of artwork were rehomed through charities, reducing waste and supporting good causes.
Social impact & community engagement
- As part of our ongoing diversity and inclusion initiatives, we hosted 6 internships for underrepresented groups via our partnership with the 10,000 Interns Foundation – two of these interns secured permanent roles.
- The wellbeing and engagement of our people continues to be a priority; volunteers contributed 87.5 hours in 2024, with 16% of our team participating in community and charity activity.
- We strengthened our policies around inclusivity, wellbeing, and employee support, ensuring that equality, flexibility, and mental health are embedded in how we work.
Governance & ethical leadership
- ESG is now firmly integrated into our Board and decision-making. We introduced 20 new or updated policies, covering areas such as neurodiversity, fertility support, flexible working, inclusive hiring, and anti-harassment.
- For all new acquisitions, we’re now applying SKA Gold certification standards to ensure sustainable growth and high performance from the outset.
What’s next
We know that sustainability is a long-term commitment, and our 2024 report is just one milestone on the path ahead. In 2025, we will:
- Roll out Carbon Literacy Training for all employees, so every team member is equipped to make informed, responsible decisions.
- Expand food recycling across all prep kitchens and communal spaces.
- Further improve Energy Use Intensity (EUI) across our portfolio to reduce energy demand and enhance efficiency.
- Deepen our social impact: more opportunities for underrepresented talent, stronger community partnerships, and ongoing support for charities important to our locations.
