Cycling to work using santander cycles
Cycling to work in London has never been so easy. The mayor of London has made cycling to work easier by expanding and updating cycling routes to make it safer and more accessible to commute around the capital.
One benefit is you don't have to own a bike to get to the office, you can simply hire one from Santander Cycles. There are currently 17 bike docking stations in Holborn and Covent Garden and approximately 700 in and around Central London.
How it works
Santander Cycles is a public bike sharing scheme designed for short journeys in London.
- You can buy an annual membership if you are a regular user or pay a daily access fee.
- A 24-hour membership cost £2 for 24 hour access as long as your journey is less than 30 minutes. If it's longer than 30 minutes, you will pay £2 for every 30 minutes.
- Yearly membership is £90 which is equivalent to 25p per day.
- Bikes are available 24 hours a day from bike stations across the borough and most of central London.
- The scheme is simple: hire a bike, ride it where you like, then return it to any docking station. You can check where the nearest bike station to you is using the Santander Cycles website or app.
- For questions about the Santander cycle hire scheme, you can call there Contact Centre on 0343 222 6666.

Central Court was formerly the headquarters for the London Patent Office in Holborn. Featuring a refined, galleried reading room, glass domed roof and balconied walkways, creates a distinctive and unique place to work. There is also a beautifully-tended courtyard garden, which can be hard to come by in the busy city. You can sit and relax in the garden, meet other members or glaze from our host of meeting rooms and offices which can overlook them.
Hudson House is full of character as it's a beautiful Grade II listed building. Located just a short walk from Covent Garden Market, these London offices are positioned on the quiet Tavistock Street. When you walk into the grand entrance you are greeted by seven floors of private offices, which feature high ceilings and period features.
Inclusive extras included in both locations are shower rooms, meeting rooms and a modern kitchen with complimentary tea and Nespresso coffee. In our Central Court Offices, you will find the addition of secure bike storage. Perfect for the cyclists amongst you to freshen up before starting your work day.
As well as cycling, the office’s are accessible via the Central, Piccadilly, Circle and Hammersmith & City London Underground lines. You are also only a couple of stops away from Charing Cross and Euston mainline train stations.
